Love Our Lakes.
(and streams and ponds too!)
About Us
Washington (Maine) Lakes Watershed Association is a small, public non-profit 501(C)(3), local organization founded in 1991 by local year-round and summer residents. A copy of the Organization’s By-Laws can be found here. The purpose of Washington Lakes Watershed Association is to promote understanding and good management of the water and watershed within the town of Washington. This area embraces Little Medomak Brook, Washington Pond, Crystal lake and all the other small streams and ponds and their watershed. The Association works to maintain good lake and watershed management through:
Providing learning opportunities about proper lake stewardship to members and the community.
Monitoring water quality, wildlife and shorelands along the ponds and waterways.
Serving as a resource for local landowners and concerned citizens in matters under consideration that could impact the lakes and/or watershed by non-local agencies.
Promoting the welfare of these water bodies in any other ways that may be deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.
