“Creating Backyard Bird Habitat” Class at Gibbs Library in Washington, Friday, April 5th, 2019 at 7pm

Join Hildy Ellis, Program Manager for Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District, for "Beyond the Birdfeeder: Creating Backyard Habitat." Now is a great time to plan to make your yard habitat-friendly this summer! This timely program will demonstrate how to use natural and constructed features to provide food, shelter, water and nesting sites to attract wildlife - including songbirds and pollinators - to your landscape, and some tips on how to discourage the kind you don't want.

Hildy will provide information on why native plants are often a better choice, which plants are pollinator powerhouses, and how backyard habitats can mitigate the effects of development, all the while highlighting the human benefits of building a dynamic landscape.
